How races work in Broken Blade

Races are permanent-style character modifiers that change your stats while equipped. They are not just cosmetic labels. A good race can add health, damage reduction, life steal, raw damage, weapon-type damage, crit chance, crit damage, or attack speed. Because those bonuses affect how your whole build feels, the race slot is one of the first systems to learn after basic combat and codes.

Race rerolling becomes available after Level 500. The key item is the Race Reroll, which lets you replace your current race with another roll. Additional reroll items can be acquired through player trading and by farming the Nivaron Boss. Since rerolls take time to farm, the best approach is not to spam every item instantly. Decide whether your current weapon is a sword, katana, buster, or general damage build, then use the race table below to choose a smart stopping point.

Broken Blade race tier list

This ranking is based on practical progression value, damage scaling, weapon synergy, and how likely the race is to stay useful as your account improves.

S

Aesir

Best overall race. It adds damage, crit chance, crit damage, and attack speed without forcing a specific weapon type.

A

Elf, Nether, Vanir

Excellent Legendary races. Pick the one that matches Sword, Buster, or Katana weapon scaling.

B

Frost, Flame

Strong Epic stopping points. They are realistic targets before you can farm rerolls consistently.

C

Giant, Dwarves

Useful early survivability, but they lose value once damage checks and faster farming become more important.

D

Human

Starter value only. Human is fine at the beginning, but it should be rerolled once you have a stable reroll source.

Best race for beginners

Beginners should not tunnel vision on Mythical Aesir immediately. Aesir is the best race, but the chance is extremely low. If you are still leveling, clearing normal mobs, and unlocking more systems, Flame and Frost are usually better practical goals. Flame gives a simple damage and health package, while Frost gives damage and damage reduction, which can feel safer against bosses.

Giant is also acceptable if survivability is your main problem. The life steal and damage reduction can smooth out farming routes, even though the damage output is lower than Epic or Legendary races. Once you can farm Nivaron more comfortably, you can start chasing a weapon-matching Legendary or Aesir.

Best race for weapon builds

The three Legendary races are best understood by weapon type. Vanir is the Katana pick, Nether is the Buster pick, and Elf is the Sword pick. If you roll one of these, do not judge it only by rarity. Judge it by whether your current or planned weapon can use the extra weapon-type damage. A Legendary race attached to the wrong weapon can feel weaker than it should.

Aesir is different because its bonuses are more universal. Damage, crit chance, crit damage, and attack speed are valuable across many builds. That makes Aesir the top long-term race and the easiest race to recommend as an endgame chase.

When to stop rerolling

Stop rerolling when the new race solves your next progression problem. If you are dying too often, stop on Frost, Giant, or Flame. If you are farming slowly, stop on Flame or any weapon-matching Legendary. If your build is already strong and you only care about maximum output, save rerolls for Aesir attempts.

A common mistake is burning every Race Reroll as soon as it drops. That can leave you with a worse race than before. Before rerolling, ask what result you would actually keep. If the only answer is Aesir, wait until you have enough rerolls to handle bad luck.

Race farming route

A reliable race route starts with level 500, then Nivaron farming, then reroll sessions. Farm enough reroll items to make multiple attempts, check your current weapon type, and stop when you hit a useful race. Trading with other players can speed up the process, but it should not replace learning the boss route because Nivaron farming gives you a repeatable path.

After every reroll session, record what you rolled, how many items you used, and whether the new race improved damage or survival. This helps you spot changes after updates instead of relying on old race tables.

Race reroll route after Level 500

Once you reach Level 500, your next goal is to turn race rerolling into a repeatable routine instead of a random gamble. Open your current build, check your weapon type, and decide your minimum acceptable result. For many players, that minimum is Frost or Flame. For weapon-focused players, it is the Legendary race that matches the weapon. For min-max players, the goal is Aesir.

Nivaron is the important boss name for this page because it is tied to Race Reroll farming. The page should eventually link to a full Nivaron boss guide with location, recommended level, attacks, drops, and farming tips. Until that boss page is complete, this races page gives players a simple direction: reach Level 500, farm or trade for Race Rerolls, then reroll with a stopping rule.

Race choice by build type

Use these shortcuts when a player wants an answer without reading the whole table.

Best general DPS

Aesir is the best general DPS race because it improves multiple offensive stats at once. It is the cleanest answer for late-game players who are not locked into one weapon class.

Best Sword race

Elf is the Sword-focused Legendary. It gives high general damage plus extra Sword damage, so it is the race to keep when your main weapon is a sword.

Best Buster race

Nether is the Buster-focused Legendary. Keep it if your build is built around heavy Buster weapons and you want more damage from that weapon category.

Best Katana race

Vanir is the Katana-focused Legendary. Its listed chance is higher than Elf or Nether, making it a practical target for Katana players.

Best safe Epic

Frost is the safest Epic race for bosses because it combines damage with damage reduction. It is a good stop point before Legendary hunting.

Best balanced Epic

Flame gives damage and health, which makes it easy to understand and useful for broad progression. Keep it if your current race is Human or Dwarves.

Broken Blade races FAQ

Quick answers for players comparing race chances, reroll timing, and best build choices.

What is the best race in Broken Blade?

Aesir is the best overall Broken Blade race because it gives damage, crit chance, crit damage, and attack speed. For non-Mythical rolls, Vanir, Nether, and Elf are excellent if they match your weapon type.

When can I reroll my race in Broken Blade?

Race rerolling unlocks at Level 500+. You need a Race Reroll item, then you can roll for a different race and try to upgrade your build.

How do I get more Race Reroll items?

Race Reroll items can be obtained by trading with other players and by grinding the Nivaron Boss. Because rerolls are valuable, avoid wasting them before you know your weapon plan.

Should beginners reroll until they get Aesir?

No. Aesir is extremely rare, so beginners should usually stop on a useful Epic race like Flame or Frost, or a Legendary that matches their weapon. Chase Aesir later when you can farm rerolls consistently.

Is Vanir better than Elf or Nether?

Vanir is not automatically better. Vanir is best for Katana builds, Elf is best for Sword builds, and Nether is best for Buster builds. The strongest Legendary race depends on your weapon.

Are race chances guaranteed to stay the same?

No. Roblox game data can change after updates, so race chances and effects should be checked in-game after major updates, balance changes, or new reroll events.
